The Joyful English program, launched in October through collaboration with ALERF (Auro Language Education and Research Foundation), aims to develop language skills in a more joyful way. Students enrolled in the program receive a Joyful English kit, setting the stage for a unique and engaging language learning experience. In this journey, we explore the program’s unique approach, teacher training insights, and assessment highlights shaping our students’ progress.
At the heart of Thamarai’s Joyful English Program comprehension surpasses traditional rote memorization. Students engage in a dynamic journey, where every word and sentence from our facilitators isn’t just heard but understood.
In this program, students immerse themselves in diverse, compelling contexts. The method ensures comprehension goes beyond the surface, creating a profound connection with the language. As they navigate different contexts, a natural surge in self-efficacy occurs. This, combined with intrinsic motivation, becomes the driving force propelling them to seek more knowledge. The program fosters a lasting love for the English language, extending beyond the classroom into a lifelong journey of discovery.
Assessment Highlights: Celebrating Triumphs and Navigating Growth
In recent assessments, a significant portion— one third of our students—have comfortably crossed the initial reading hurdle in their learning journey. For the next one third still navigating the reading barrier, we’re confident they’ll overcome it soon.
The final one third faces unique challenges, and we’re actively exploring innovative ways to support their learning journey. Our team is dedicated to identifying personalized approaches, ensuring every student receives the guidance to thrive in the Joyful English Program.
Thamarai remains committed to the holistic development of every learner. Insights from assessments inspire us to refine methods, tailor support, and provide students with the tools they need to excel.
In tandem, our teachers follow a unique training model called the Natural Approach Model. This approach provides teachers with perspectives and presents them with simple challenges in a scaffolding way, allowing them to move beyond theory. Guided by micro models, our facilitators gradually acquire skills in the joyful language learning methodology. This ensures they create a dynamic and engaging learning environment for our students.
