Learning to manage small accidents and first response
Small accidents can happen at any time so we invited the first aid training team Phillipe and Tenzin from youth link to take us through the basics with our 14 facilitators who work regularly with children. We learned how to handle everyday accidents including shock, burns, snake bites, car and bike accidents, and breathing problems. I learned how to respond to an ambulance call, how to do CPR methods and key points like how to get response COWS (can you hear me? Open your eyes, What happened? Squeeze my hand).
First aid training : a practical session
The training program went well. We learned with a practical demonstration how to handle different situations and how to implement First aid in Thamarai. I felt confident, especially in how to handle the emergency time and we followed up this session with an informative session on Viji all about snakes!
