A popular project among new students is designing personalized key tags with their names. After creating and printing their designs, they proudly take them home to show their friends and family. This hands-on approach not only sparks creativity but also helps foster a deeper understanding of design principles and 3D printing technology. Through these efforts, the STEM program continues to empower students to innovate and build practical skills that will serve them in the future.
As part of the ongoing STEM program, two of our alumni have been actively utilizing the STEM facilities to deepen their knowledge and skills in their chosen fields of interest. They have taken the initiative to design various items for Thamarai, enabling us to replace broken or worn components with ease. For example, they have successfully designed pen holders, replaced damaged VR parts, and even created a detailed miniature model of Thamarai itself.
In addition to their design work, these alumni have also developed a comprehensive user guide for beginners. This guide serves as a valuable resource, providing a clear pathway for students and young people to explore, learn, and create their own designs without needing prior knowledge. New students who join the program now use this guide as a foundational tool to create their first 3D models.
