MSLETB, Foróige Mayo, Ireland and Thamarai Education Projects are developing a cross cultural shared learning platform for teenagers through Creative Digital Skills including VR.
This builds on an existing relationship between MSLETB, Thamarai and the Bey project, Ballyhaunis when in 2022 two activities were carried out:
- a presentation of cultural practices and hobbies by 14 teenagers over zoom and
- a shared international story project with 12 teenagers.
This VR and creative digital skills program will further enhance this connection. The project proposes that young people, with the support of local facilitators, learn new creative digital skills through Foroige’s Level UP programme modules. They will engage in a virtual reality shared space and build shared learning experiences such as a Virtual Library, Digital Social Stories, International Exchange story, etc..
The VR equipment will also be used in Thamarai to enhance curriculum subjects for young people. This phase of the project kicked off with a joint team training with facilitators on both sides introduced to the LevelUP and Creative Digital Skills program with Ruairi Kelly and Aoife Lee.
