| Lucie and Manya volunteered at Thamarai as part of a program by the American University of Paris, through their sustainable development practicum. Manya is a child of Auroville, studying in Last School, and was given the opportunity to participate in the university program in her senior year. She teaches in Auroville schools alongside her studies. Lucie is an undergraduate student at the American University of Paris studying international comparative politics and Middle East pluralities, and her passion revolves around education, human rights, and equity. They assisted us through synthesizing PowerPoint presentations, created a students’ page on our website with helpful guidelines, and made fliers stating our mission statement in a simple and engaging manner. They shared “we enjoyed being in a collaborative and kind environment which fosters creativity and continued learning through integral education. We are grateful for our time here and will always feel connected to our community”. |
